Dcoop acquires 5% of the Portuguese olive company Maçarico

Dcoop S.Coop.And. has acquired 5% stake of the Portuguese company Maçarico SA, dedicated to the commercialization of table olives and olive oil.

With this alliance, both companies intend to strengthen the Portuguese table olive market, where Maçarico is a leading company, as well as, of other 40 countries where it has presence.

Founded in last century’s fourties, Maçarico works olive oils, sauces and pickles too. This deal also includes an agreement for olives supply.

For Maçarico, it means the alliance with the world’s largest producer of table olives, Dcoop, with productions of around 100,000 tons a year and 225.000 tons of olive oil. For Dcoop, it will allow to commercialize these productions through a consolidated company in important markets, that both companies are committed to promote.

This is the second participation agreement in olive operators signed by Dcoop, after the recent agreement with Bell-Carter in the United States, where it already owns 50% of Pompeian, a leading company in the US olive oil market.
