The 109th session of the Council of Members of the International Olive Council officially began on Monday 17 June in Marrakech, Morocco. The Executive Director Abdellatif Ghedira opened the first meeting with an introductory greeting alongside the two Deputy Executive Directors, Jaime Lillo and Mustafa Sepetçi.

At the opening of the session, Nabil Chaouki (pictured), the Director General of Production Chain Development at the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kingdom of Morocco and the head of the Moroccan delegation, the host of this session, greeted participants on behalf of the Moroccan institutions involved in organising the event.

Work will continue until Friday 21 June. An international seminar on “challenges and perspectives of the olive sector” will take place on 20 June, and on 22 June the organisers of the session will give a guided tour of olive-growing plantations of international importance.
