Italy’s Leading Olive Authorities Announce Innovative Joint Venture: ONAOO and ANOO Collaborate on State-of-the-Art Bilingual Olive Growing and Olive Oil Production Courses for the International Market.

ONAOO and ANOO (Accademia Nazionale dell’Olivo e dell’Olio / the Italian National Academy of the Olive Tree and Olive Oil) have signed a three-year partnership effective immediately. This first-time collaboration will allow Italy’s foremost authorities on olive growing, oil making, and the sensory assessment of olive oil to offer instruction to students from around the globe. The inaugural course, “From the olive tree to olive oil: an international course on olive growing, oil making and oil tasting,” will be held from 11 to 15 September 2017 at ONAOO in Imperia, Italy.

The in-depth program targets national and international participants interested in expanding their understanding of state-of-the-art orchard design and management, the extraction and production of olive oil, and the management of oil mills. Further, the program will provide guided tastings and expert instruction in the sensory assessment of olive oils.

This new partnership widens and strengthens the educational opportunities that have distinguished ONAOO for over 30 years. The affiliation with ANOO establishes tighter links with the scientific community, and enhances the depth of the ONAOO offerings.
